Two Tips for Generating Great Leads

www.PsPrint.com

Generating top mortgage leads is one of the most important aspects of business for a mortgage professional. You need a steady stream of qualified leads flowing into your sales pipeline in order to keep your business growing. What’s interesting, many loan professionals procrastinate this activity. They’d rather spend time purchasing leads and pursuing other activities instead of doing the “grunt” work.

A solid plan to generate quality jumbo mortgage leads will require some hard work. If the service is effective, it may be worth the focus. However, one needs to learn how to do the “hard” work to determine how to select clients that best meet their needs. First, do the hard work and then decide whether to purchase leads.

First Tip

Have the prospects find you. A great strategy is to have your own website. Build a website and optimize it so you’re found through search engines like Google. Have a loan application that instantly alerts you once a lead has filled it out.

Second Tip

Let the lead know what you want him to do. Many mortgage brokers make the mistake of assuming that a lead understand what you want them to do. In reality, you must clearly tell the lead what you want.

Many websites have the issue of having general content. Once a visitor arrives, they see mortgage rates and other general info. However, it become difficult when you want to find the contact or application area. You need to make this apparent and clear on your home page.

You need to differentiate your self from the competition. What do you do better or differently than the rest? State that clearly on your website. Don’t just say that you have great rates, show testimonials where past clients are discussing how great your rates were. You need to step it up and be better if you want more business.

Buying A Business

www.PsPrint.com

If you are contemplating the option of purchasing a business or finding a business to invest in then you need to make a fundamental decision from the start.  If you get this confused then you are in for a very unhappy time.  The basic question is, “What role do you see yourself playing in the day to day operation of the business you are looking to purchase or sink your money in?”  This question is really basic to deciding what type of enterprise to look for and what your expectations of your say in the running of the company will be.

If you are buying a business in order to create a job for yourself then that is one thing, but if you want to be a passive investor then you will be looking for a completely different opportunity.  A passive investor is someone who puts money into a business but does not make any of the day to day operating decisions.  Generally, they do not worry about anything less than strategic goals which would be an overall direction the business is headed.  The day to day decisions are made by a hired manager, or sometimes, one of the investing partners will take on the management which is a different business function.

One of the worst situations for a business is when a passive investor wants to be involved in the day to day decisions but only sometimes.  Often times a tactical decision can not be made without thoughts of how it will effect other aspects of the business.  If the passive investor swoops in one day, makes a decision, and then swoops out only to return in a couple of weeks to do it again, he or she is creating a very difficult management environment for the person is actually held accountable for the profit and loss of the business.

Investing in a business can be a great way to put your money to work, but it is very important to understand what everyone’s role is in the operation.

Cut Your Advertisement Budget with Cheap Vinyl Banners

    www.PsPrint.com

When I was starting my company I made the mistake of buying an expensive neon-light sign for my store. I thought that it would attract customers to my pet food store. No it did not. It looked like a cheap striptease bar with it’s flashy lights. Then I discovered the electric bill. Those thing really need their own nuclear station to run. I don’t know how they do it in Vegas, well I guess they have the money. Another problem is that the lights don’t last very long, and they are all hand-made. So you can’t really pick up a spare one from the local hardware store, you need to order one. It can take anything from two weeks to up two months. In the mean time your sign says “PET FO D S ORE”.

A couple of years ago a storm to took down most of the neon sign, so I thought the hell with it. Time to get an easier replacement. So I got a plastic banner with a couple fluorescent tubes running behind it. That was the works, or so I thought again. Sure the electric bill was a little smaller and you could buy the tubes from the hardware store. It was just difficult changing the tubes. I needed to rent a scissor lift and take off take the banner to get to the lights. Okay, you can live with that. But a year ago I noticed that the banner was getting a little dark and greenish from all the pollution from the cars running by. I tried to clean it, but it just would not come off.

Time to look for another solution. I started thinking why do I need a sign that has lights in it? It’s not like pet owners are driving around at night looking for a 24/7 pet food store. Then I had the idea of cheap vinyl banners. I wish I had thought of that in the first place, it would have saved me a lot of money. Now if the vinyl banner gets torn or dirty I just throw it away. Not a big deal as I buy them in bulk, so I get a discount. Now I can also easily change the banner to advertise when I have a sale. I can recommend cheap vinyl banners to everyone starting their own business.
